Playing now, picked it up at GameStop for 40 bucks, me and my kid has already played through 1 world. It's great.
My wife works at Gamestop and she had a Kinect returned yesterday just for this very reason. They thought the Kinect malfunctioned, got a new one, took it home and found out it didn't work either, so they brought it all back and sure enough, ringed disk. They said they didn't move it, they were just playing and it quit working. It's not too much of a stretch to think that if you're playing on any floor that isn't solid, that it could cause a big enough shake to scratch a d...
The Branson/Springfield MO area has plenty. Our local Gamestop has only sold three additional to their 10 preorders. They sold out of Move when it came out. There is a lot more demand for Xbox products in this area on most multiplat games, but this thing just isn't getting the same reception.
My wife works at gamestop, EVERY store manager is due to receive a free Kinect shortly before Thanksgiving. I couldn't imagine that this could possibly sway their view though....
My kid's three and he can use move like it's second nature, he plays the eyepet and can choose everything he wants to do. He still need's help with wii sports because the cursor is not as easy to use. but I bet he'd have trouble with kinect just due to a lack of coordination at that age. Could it even detect someone that small?
I think they should use the head tracking ability of the eye for the right stick functionality and have a movable cursor on screen. It just depends on how well it can detect a slight turn of the head, if you didn't have turn your head very far I think it would be a perfect control scheme for a FPS.
Perhaps Halo is still played so much since there isn't much else worth playing, to the xbox guys, on the 360?
If sony doesn't release a new console until 2014 or later and microsoft releases a new one in 2010. Then sony will be forcing microsoft to compete with the ps3 which will have a huge install base compared to the 720 and will be considerably cheaper. Then by the time They release the PS4 they will be competing with the Xbox after the 720, if microsoft is even in the console business by then.
If microsoft releases another console later than 2010, lets say they try to hold out close...
Is it ok to say "douche bag" in these forums?
I know this probably belongs in the other section, but for some reason poos doesn't have to post there yet and every time I see one of his posts where he acts like he actually owns a ps3 I wish to myself that there was an option to report someone just for being a total douche.
I saw a new ad for Chains of Olympus today and I think that is a slogan for the game.

That second guy is an impostor, look, two i's. Not to mention, he doesn't even type the same.
If you look at the gamespot site you'll notice that they are a division of cnet. If you look at cnet you'll find they're owned by Microsoft. Hmmm... What an interesting situation? I wonder what could be going on?
Had the ps3 error yesterday, I logged out then back in and was greated by updated terms and conditions. Accepted and no problem since.
